Hello, I’m Dr. Justin P. Calhoun, D.C. and I’m thankful you are here. I decided to become a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) after getting relief from my migraines through a specific chiropractic technique known as the Gonstead Technique. Falling at age 2 1/2 on the front cement steps caused spinal subluxations in my neck. That accident also led to me getting migraines 2-3 times a week between 1-3 weeks out of the month by the time I was 5.

No medical doctor or testing could figure out what was wrong. I tried taking drugs, stopped consuming dairy (while growing up on a dairy farm), cut out soda and other sweets. Nothing was helping. After being adjusted by my Uncle, Dr. Lynn Calhoun, D.C., I found significant relief. After about three months of weekly care I was only getting a migraine once a month and continued to decrease in frequency with the more chiropractic care I was given.

By age 16, I decided I wanted to become a Doctor of Chiropractic and have a significant impact in the way people approach healthcare.

I started practicing in May of 1997 after graduating from New York Chiropractic College. I learned the Gonstead technique from seminars and additional studying, and continue to get adjusted every week which helps me have a higher level of quality of life. My prayer is that God sends people into my life that He can help through me.

My immediate family includes my wife Aimee, my daughter Melanie and my son Jacob. They continue to fill my life with love, strength and purpose.

I have seen thousands of people in my office that have had great success with chiropractic care. Unfortunately, many of them came in as a last resort with very little hope of getting better. Don’t wait and suffer! Please know I am here to build a relationship that will help you and your family improve your quality of life!

Hello I am Dr. Josue A. Gandia D.C. I am honored and motivated to be part of Calhoun Chiropractic Wellness Center. My chiropractic journey starts not with myself but with my dad. My father who is a professor at a college had a weight lifting accident, and herniated his low back. This, at times, caused him immense pain to the point where he had stopped a lot of his physical activities, was not able to teach or continue lessons. I remember the pain getting so bad that he had fallen in his office and couldn’t move or be touched until it went away. He was never one to take pain pills, but had to do it as the pain was so unbearable at times. One doctor told him “You better get used to a cane cause this ain’t going away.”

Thankfully, a friend suggested going to a Chiropractor. After a few sessions the change was noticeable he did not need any pain medication, he was walking better and was able to teach without a problem. In one of the follow-up sessions he took me to see the Chiropractor. After I saw what my father went through and how it changed him and seeing how the Chiropractor worked… I knew that this is what I want to do. To help people like that Chiropractor helped my dad is my dream.

With that in mind, I went to LIFE University to study Chiropractic. It was an amazing and beautiful experience and it was everything I hoped learning this profession was going to be. While studying with some friends on my first year, a friend suggested that I go to Gonstead club and check out this technique. If my dad going to a Chiropractor is my “why I started this path?” then going to Gonstead club was my HOW. The skill and methods that this technique employs are amazing and I knew that this was the way for me.

Aside from my career path, I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. I am an adventurous spirit, I love the outdoors in both calm peaceful picnic settings and more active settings like bike riding, jogging. When I’m not outside I love to watch movies and documentaries especially historical or science/Science-fiction. Lastly, my first language is Spanish.

Si eres hispano hablante, bienvenido sea. Aqui estoy, junto al equipo, para servirle.

In the words that LIFE taught me. I am here to serve, to love and to do.

Looking forward to seeing you soon in the office!

I originally started seeing Dr. Calhoun after a close family friend recommended him for my daughter who suffers from anxiety. I have seen many other chiropractors for myself over the years and had given up on getting help for a life-long struggle with a tethered spinal cord resulting in severe nerve and muscle damage. Eventually after seeing how Dr. Calhoun was helping my daughter, I decided to become a practice member myself! I have a daughter, Riley, from a previous marriage and my husband, Jared, and I got married in 2011 and had our son, Cooper, in 2015.
