Hello, I’m Dr. Justin P. Calhoun, D.C. and I’m thankful you are here. I decided to become a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) after getting relief from my migraines through a specific chiropractic technique known as the Gonstead Technique. Falling at age 2 1/2 on the front cement steps caused spinal subluxations in my neck. That accident also led to me getting migraines 2-3 times a week between 1-3 weeks out of the month by the time I was 5.
No medical doctor or testing could figure out what was wrong. I tried taking drugs, stopped consuming dairy (while growing up on a dairy farm), cut out soda and other sweets. Nothing was helping. After being adjusted by my Uncle, Dr. Lynn Calhoun, D.C., I found significant relief. After about three months of weekly care I was only getting a migraine once a month and continued to decrease in frequency with the more chiropractic care I was given.
By age 16, I decided I wanted to become a Doctor of Chiropractic and have a significant impact in the way people approach healthcare.
I started practicing in May of 1997 after graduating from New York Chiropractic College. I learned the Gonstead technique from seminars and additional studying, and continue to get adjusted every week which helps me have a higher level of quality of life. My prayer is that God sends people into my life that He can help through me.
My immediate family includes my wife Aimee, my daughter Melanie and my son Jacob. They continue to fill my life with love, strength and purpose.
I have seen thousands of people in my office that have had great success with chiropractic care. Unfortunately, many of them came in as a last resort with very little hope of getting better. Don’t wait and suffer! Please know I am here to build a relationship that will help you and your family improve your quality of life!

Hi! I am Dr. Shauna Murphy, D.C. and I am excited to join the Calhoun Chiropractic Wellness Team! I became interested in chiropractic while in high school after seeing how it combined my interest in health and wellness with my desire to help people. Learning about true health and the brilliance of the human body has been truly fascinating and I strive to share a message of hope and empowerment with those I am blessed to serve through chiropractic.
I was born in Buffalo, NY and lived there with my parents and brothers. I was a three-sport athlete at Mount Saint Mary Academy in Kenmore and then completed my Bachelor degree in Exercise Science at University at Buffalo. I worked at a local chiropractic office for two years before moving to St. Louis, Missouri to attend Logan University and earn my Doctorate of Chiropractic.
While at Logan University, I was a member of the Chi Rho Sigma professional fraternity and a Gonstead intern. As an intern I spent many hours outside the classroom learning more about the specific analysis and technique of the Gonstead Methodology and witnessed the amazing outcomes experienced by those under Gonstead chiropractic care. Before graduating, I completed my preceptorship with a chiropractor who specialized in pediatrics and pregnancy to gain experience on how to help moms, littles, and families reach their God-given potential!
Outside of chiropractic, I love a good podcast or audiobook, exploring the outdoors with my brothers, drinking tea, and cheering on the Bills and Sabres!

I originally started seeing Dr. Calhoun after a close family friend recommended him for my daughter who suffers from anxiety. I have seen many other chiropractors for myself over the years and had given up on getting help for a life-long struggle with a tethered spinal cord resulting in severe nerve and muscle damage. Eventually after seeing how Dr. Calhoun was helping my daughter, I decided to become a practice member myself! I have a daughter, Riley, from a previous marriage and my husband, Jared, and I got married in 2011 and had our son, Cooper, in 2015.

At this point of my life, after working full time in the medical field, most recently as a billing manager, I wanted to ease back and find a pleasant place to work, while still staying in touch with my medical roots. Calhoun Chiropractic was the perfect fit for this, and has allowed me to do just that! I have lived in the area all of my life, been married 40+ years, have 2 wonderful sons, daughter-in-laws, and 3 precious grandchildren.
